ReModern Builders is involved in the historic preservation community in Boston. ReModern’s owner, Patrick Mulroy, is a student of architectural history and historic preservation and a member of the New England Society of Architectural Historians.
Using our hands on experience restoring and remodeling historic resources we offer historic preservation consulting in addition to our construction services. We are experienced in negotiating the fine line between preservstion, rehabilitation, and conjectural remodeling. We understand that not all historic homes can be preserved in shrink wrap and embrace our client’s who wish to preserve the character and architectural style of their historic resource, while modernizing it to meet the needs of the present day. Our knowledge of period details allows us to help our clients harmonize the new with the old in a way that respects the historical context.
For more strict preservation projects, ReModern’s team of carpenters is trained in traditional building techniques and replication of historic details, and are able to follow the strict NPS guidlines for preservation. Reproduction work is a passion of ours. We love continuing the traditions of the builders who came before us.
